Props Research

Within my opening 2 minutes of my film, I will use props to create tension and add to stereotypes that we expect to see within a horror film.

One prop I will be using is a gun. The protagonist will be holding the gun. Instead of the gun being used by the antagonist to kill or harm someone, the protagonist will be holding it to show fright and show that he is using it for protection. I will show that the protagonist is holding the gun for protection as he will go and get it after he has see the antagonist.

The antagonist will not have a weapon or prop as he will harm the protagonist with his hands and will strangle him. However, I am also going to show that the antagonist has harmed the protagonist in another way at the end of the 2 minutes by showing blood on the antagonists arm. This shows that the antagonist is not human and is a ghostly character.

It also shows he is not aware what is going on around him. stereotypically, we expect young people to wear headphones because they are the ones who are really into technology and are also known for being anti - social when it comes to a social situation and listening to their music.
