When filming my opening 2 minutes, it is important that i research the location that I am going to be filming at to make sure that it follows the stereotypes of a horror films location.
A stereotype that we expect to see in a horror film is an old, dark and abandoned looking home. This can be either one of the main characters homes or the home of the antagonist that gets intruded on by the protagonist, therefore causing things to happen between the two of them.
I am going to film my opening 2 minutes of my film in this house. I am using this house because it looks ordinary and the audience can relate to living in a home like this. This therefore creates a sense of insecurity with the audience as it allows the film to seem more realistic and true causing the audience to become scared.
This is going to be the home of the protagonist showing that the antagonist has entered the home without the protagonist being aware. This will therefore help the story line as this follows the idea of the film title "waiting" as the antagonist is waiting for the protagonist to return home to cause harm.
I am going to film my opening 2 minutes just before dusk, so around 5pm. This will allow the home inside to appear darker and more spooky and also make the home from the outside seem less inviting to the audience.
